Bikes For Kids

Do you need a bike?
Do you have a used bike that needs a good home?
Do you want to help fix bikes?

Then Bikes for Kids is for you!

What is it?

Bikes for Kids, a United Way of Pictou County program, collects used bikes, repairs them, and gives them to children in Pictou County who do not have a bike. It is a rewarding project that allows the community to come together and provide children of all ages the thrill of receiving an unexpected gift, as well as, exercise and have fun on their "new" bike all summer long!

Since the program started in 2003, over 1,100 bicycles and helmets have been given away to youth in Pictou County.

How you can help?

Donate a bike!
To make arrangements to drop off a bike, contact our Coordinator at the information below.

Fix a bike! Volunteers are always needed, and appreciated, to help repair and clean the bikes.  Even if you don't know how, our long-time volunteers are there to teach you.  If you'd to help out, contact our Coordinator at the information below.

By volunteering your time and bike repair knowledge, and/or donating bikes and new helmets, you will be helping the community come together to work for a very worthwhile cause and you will be bringing joy and endless smiles into the lives of children across Pictou County.
